Personal Story

My book: A Roadmap For American Churches And People Of Faith: W.W.J.D. (What Would Jesus Do?) is the culmination of over 30 years of work with over 1,000 Christian churches, completing strategic plans covering over 26% of Orthodox Christians in the United States, and three years of intense research and dissertation work for my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership for Christian churches from Regent University.

My pre-Doctorate academic work consisted of a B.A. from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Graduate School of Business Administration at Emory University, a J.D. from Emory University School of Law, and a graduate leadership certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. That education prepared me for a most blessed 36-year career as a corporate and mergers and acquisitions partner and in management at two global law firms, the 1,600-lawyer Troutman Pepper Locke and the 1,100-lawyer McGuire Woods.

This education and work allowed me to “refire” with sufficient experiences and skills to answer the Lord’s call to help His churches and people. I am truly blessed to work every day for free to bring people closer to Christ and each other as they discover their WHY and stewardship calling.

However, none of what God has allowed me to do would be possible without the love and sacrifice of my parents (William C. and Bess Marianes), my indefatigable and inspirational sister (Connie Kratky), my hard-working and loving wife of 45 years (Audrey), and my two amazing change agent daughters, Dr. Alexis and Eliana Marianes. I am humbled by God’s grace, the loving support of so many family, friends, and mentors, and the opportunity to serve you and your parish as you discover and live your WHY and stewardship calling.

I can be reached at [email protected]. And check out my companion Stewardship Calling website for my direct parish work.

Please let me know your questions or how I can help you prepare for what I call your “II Corinthians 5:10 Moment” when you seek that “good account before the awesome judgment seat of Christ.”

All glory to God!
